What is Float Therapy?

Float therapy — also known as sensory deprivation therapy — is a deeply restorative experience in which you float in a private pod filled with warm water and 1,100 lbs of dissolved Epsom salt. This highly buoyant solution creates a sensation of complete weightlessness, removing all gravitational load from your body while eliminating external light and sound.

With all sensory input removed, your mind rapidly descends into a profound meditative state. Your brain begins producing theta waves — the same deeply creative and restorative brainwaves that occur just at the threshold of sleep. The physiological effects are measurable and significant: cortisol drops, magnesium is absorbed transdermally, pain signals diminish, and the nervous system enters a state of genuine, cellular-level restoration.

In our daily lives we never fully stop. Floating gives the body what it has been waiting for: permission to stop, repair, and return to itself.

Your Experience

What to Expect

01

Your Private Float Suite

You'll float in a large, spacious pod — approximately 8 feet long and 6 feet wide — filled with 10 inches of water and 1,100 lbs of dissolved Epsom salt. The buoyant solution gently supports you as you float on your back. Water is maintained at skin temperature (~94.5°F), creating the sensation of weightlessness as your body boundary dissolves.

02

You're Always in Control

After closing the pod lid (if you choose to), the lights and music fade out gently, easing you into your float. You are in complete control — you decide whether to float with the light on or off, how long the music plays, and whether the canopy door is open, closed, or somewhere in between. Many clients with claustrophobia float comfortably because of this freedom.

03

Everything Provided

We provide everything you need: premium towels, slippers, robe, shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, earplugs, ointment for scratches, and water. Simply arrive and surrender. You're welcome to bring a hairbrush or any personal comfort item.

04

Pristine Hygiene Standards

Every room and pod are thoroughly sanitized before each use. The water is treated with a combination of filtration, UV sterilization, and disinfectants to ensure a completely hygienic environment. The high salt concentration itself is also naturally antimicrobial.

How Often to Float

Recommended Frequency

Once a Month

A solid foundation for self-care — providing a much-needed body reset. Ideal for those with minimal pain and an active lifestyle who want a reliable monthly restoration ritual.

Twice a Month

Offers an energy boost, spinal alignment, and immune support. Ideal for those who sit for extended periods, helping to decrease inflammation, reduce pain, and alleviate moderate chronic pain and migraines.

Weekly

Extends relief from chronic pain, enhances mental health, and boosts performance. Perfect for athletes, high-performers, or anyone in training. Can meaningfully reduce anxiety, depression, and improve sleep quality.

Why It Works

Benefits of Float Therapy

Pain Relief

The anti-gravity environment removes all pressure from joints, muscles, and the spine — allowing complete decompression. Increased blood flow to damaged tissues accelerates healing, reducing chronic inflammation and tension at the source.

Deep Relaxation

Floating rebalances the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, reducing restlessness and chronic tension. Transdermally absorbed magnesium replenishes depleted levels, leading to deeper, more restorative sleep long after your session.

Athletic Recovery

The ultimate recovery tool for athletes — floating accelerates muscle repair, speeds lactic acid removal, and reduces soreness. The zero-gravity environment lowers cortisol, clears the mind, and calms the nervous system for peak performance regeneration.

Mental Health

Floating reduces stress and anxiety by suppressing the fight-or-flight response and activating the parasympathetic nervous system. This shift promotes a deep sense of rest that allows the body to repair — measurably reducing cortisol and inflammatory markers.

Immune Support

Chronic stress suppresses immunity. By neutralizing stress hormones, floating restores immune responsiveness. Magnesium absorbed during your float directly reinforces the body's defenses, supporting healthier digestion, hormonal balance, and cellular regeneration.

Creativity & Flow

Floating rapidly produces theta brainwave states — the mental frequency associated with inspiration, creativity, and insight. Many clients emerge with profound mental clarity, creative breakthroughs, and solutions to problems they've been carrying for weeks.

Have Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring?
We provide all the amenities you will need: towels, slippers, robe, shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, earplugs, ointment for scratches, and water. You are welcome to bring a hairbrush or anything else you feel you might need.
What should I wear during a session?
You may wear a swimsuit or choose to float nude. The room is entirely private, so you are free to float in whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
Can I float if I'm pregnant?
Yes — many pregnant women find float therapy extremely therapeutic. It is known to reduce the risk of preeclampsia and allows you to connect with your baby. However, please consult with your healthcare provider before your first float.
Will I get claustrophobic in the tank?
Our pods are incredibly spacious — approximately 8 feet in length and 6 feet in width. You have complete control over the lighting, music, and position of the canopy door. The experience of sensory deprivation also tends to erase your perception of boundaries, making the space feel limitless.
Can I float if I have a medical condition?
Please consult with your healthcare provider if you have any medical conditions or concerns prior to booking a session.
How clean is the water?
The water is treated with a combination of filtration, UV sterilization, and disinfectants to ensure a fully hygienic environment. The extremely high salt concentration is also naturally antimicrobial.
How clean is the pod and room?
Every room and pod are thoroughly sanitized before each use. We maintain rigorous cleaning protocols between every single client.
What if I fall asleep while floating?
It is completely safe to fall asleep. The saltwater will keep you buoyant at all times, and the controlled environment ensures your safety throughout your session.
Can I eat or drink before floating?
It's best to avoid heavy meals or alcohol before your session, but a light snack is fine. Being too hungry can be distracting; being too full can be uncomfortable.
Can children float?
Generally, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Please contact us to discuss your specific situation.
How often should I float?
Frequency varies by individual goals and preferences. Some people float weekly for chronic pain management or athletic performance, while others do it monthly as a self-care ritual. See our Recommended Frequency section above for guidance.
Can I wear contacts during my session?
We recommend removing contact lenses before your float to avoid potential irritation from the saltwater. Bring a case if you wear contacts.
Can I shave before my float?
We recommend avoiding shaving for at least 2 hours before your float. Any stinging from saltwater on freshly shaved skin will fade within minutes, but it can be distracting during the early part of your session.
Can I float if I recently dyed my hair?
If your hair color is permanent and was done more than 10 days ago, you should be fine to float. If your hair color is semi-permanent, or is blue or red (which tend to run and can stain the pod), you cannot float unless it has been several weeks since coloring and the color is no longer running in the shower.
