The Science
What is EMTT?
Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy — EMTT — is an advanced, non-invasive treatment that delivers high-energy magnetic pulses deep into damaged tissue. Originally developed in Germany and now used across leading orthopedic, sports medicine, and regenerative clinics worldwide.
Where standard PEMF therapy operates at low frequencies and shallow depths, EMTT works at up to 300 kHz and 150 millitesla — enabling it to reach structures like the hip joint, spine, deep tendon attachments, and cartilage that other electromagnetic devices simply cannot access.
At the cellular level, EMTT enhances ion exchange, boosts ATP production, improves microcirculation, and triggers the body's own tissue repair pathways — all without heat, needles, or contact with the skin.

Your Session
What to Expect
01
Arrival & IntakeBrief check-in to discuss your primary area of concern, any relevant history, and your treatment goals. EMTT sessions are unhurried, comfortable, and fully clothed — no prep or undressing required.
02
PositioningYou are seated or reclined comfortably. The EMTT applicator is positioned 1–2 cm above the treatment area — no skin contact, no gel, no preparation needed.
03
Treatment (15–20 min)High-frequency magnetic pulses are delivered to the target tissue. Most clients feel little to nothing — occasionally a mild warmth or gentle pulsing. You remain fully clothed and at rest throughout.
04
Session Complete — No DowntimeThere is no recovery period. You can return immediately to normal activity. For optimal outcomes, 4–8 sessions spaced 1–3 days apart is recommended. We'll discuss your protocol before you leave.
Optimal Protocol
Recommended Frequency
Acute Injury4–6 sessions over 2–3 weeks for sports injuries, sprains, and acute flare-ups. Sessions spaced 1–2 days apart for cumulative effect.
Chronic Pain6–8 sessions over 3–4 weeks for osteoarthritis, tendinopathy, and long-standing conditions. Many clients experience lasting relief after a full protocol.
MaintenanceMonthly or as-needed sessions to maintain gains, support ongoing tissue health, and prevent recurrence of chronic conditions.
Why It Works
Benefits of EMTT
Deep Pain ReliefTargets the source of musculoskeletal pain rather than masking symptoms. Particularly effective for chronic pain in joints, tendons, and spinal structures that have not responded to surface-level treatments.
Accelerated Tissue RepairUpregulates key genes involved in bone formation (SP7 and RUNX2), enhances collagen synthesis, and promotes cartilage regeneration — supporting faster healing from injuries, surgeries, and degenerative conditions.
Reduced InflammationModulates inflammatory pathways at the cellular level, reducing swelling, tenderness, and the chronic inflammatory cycles that perpetuate joint pain, tendinopathy, and post-injury stiffness.
Restored MobilityAs inflammation decreases and tissue repairs, range of motion returns. Patients regularly report restored function in joints and tendons that had been limiting daily activity or athletic performance for months or years.
Cellular Energy BoostEMTT stimulates ATP production — the fundamental energy currency of every cell. Enhanced cellular metabolism supports not just local tissue repair but systemic vitality and recovery capacity.
Drug-Free & Non-InvasiveNo injections, no medications, no recovery time. EMTT sessions are completely contactless — the applicator is held above the skin. Fully clothed. No heat, no discomfort, no downtime.

The Research Behind It
EMTT is an emerging field with a growing body of peer-reviewed research. Below are representative findings from published clinical studies.

Rotator Cuff TendinopathyEMTT and shockwave therapy produced significant improvements in 86-patient prospective randomized controlled trialKlüter et al. (2018), Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine
Shoulder ImpingementPulsed magnetic therapy significantly reduced short-term pain and improved both short- and long-term functional capacityMeta-analysis of 4 RCTs, n=252 (Wang et al., PLOS ONE, 2025)
Bone HealingEMTT upregulated key bone-formation genes (SP7, RUNX2) by over 7× with enhanced collagen synthesis and mineralizationGerdesmeyer et al. (2024), Biomedicines

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is not suitable for EMTT?
EMTT is not suitable for individuals with a pacemaker or implanted electrical device, MRI-unsafe metal implants, active malignancy, pregnancy, deep vein thrombosis, severe cardiac conditions, active bleeding or open wounds at the treatment site, or epilepsy/seizure disorder. Please inform your practitioner before booking.
What does an EMTT session feel like?
Most clients feel little to nothing — occasionally a mild warmth or gentle pulsing sensation at the treatment site. The session is completely contactless and you remain fully clothed throughout. There is no heat, no discomfort, and no downtime.
How many sessions will I need?
For acute injuries, 4–6 sessions over 2–3 weeks is typical. For chronic conditions, 6–8 sessions over 3–4 weeks. Many clients notice improvement after the first 2–3 sessions, with cumulative benefits building through the protocol.
How is EMTT different from standard PEMF?
EMTT operates at significantly higher frequencies (up to 300 kHz vs. 1–100 Hz for standard PEMF) and field strengths (up to 150 mT vs. 1–30 mT). This allows EMTT to reach deep tissue structures — joints, spinal discs, deep tendons — that standard PEMF simply cannot access. Sessions are also shorter and fully contactless.
Can I combine EMTT with other SoliVana services?
Absolutely. EMTT pairs exceptionally well with Float Therapy (for systemic nervous system recovery), Fire & Ice (for enhanced circulation), and Red Light Therapy (for cellular repair). Ask our practitioners about combination protocols.
Do I need to undress or prepare anything?
No. EMTT is performed fully clothed with no skin contact required. There is no gel, no undressing, and no preparation needed. Simply arrive and we'll take care of the rest.
