Float Therapy

Relax. Rest. Heal.

Floating therapy is a method of deep relaxation that occurs in a pod of warm epsom salt water. For an hour, the outside world is gone, and your mind is able to unwind and flow freely without distraction. Your brain pumps out dopamine and endorphins, and your body gets to restore and heal.

What to Expect

Indulge in an hour-long sensory retreat where distractions fade away, leaving you undisturbed by light, sound, or physical sensations. The 1,100 lbs of epsom salt in the water supports you as you float. The water is kept at skin temperature, ~94.5 degrees, which means you lose track of where your body ends and the water begins.

Drift Into relaxation

After you close the lid of the pod (if you choose to do so), you simply float. The lights and music will fade out, easing you into the remainder of your float experience. You are in complete control of your float. You decide if you want the light on or off. You determine how long the music plays. You control whether you want the canopy door open, closed or somewhere in between.

BENEFITS OF Float therapy

The anti-gravity environment of the float tank takes pressure off of joints and muscles, and facilitates blood flow to damaged tissues. Fibromyalgia, arthritis, back pain, neck pain, tendinitis, bursitis, rheumatoid arthritis, migraine, inflammation and psychosomatic pain relief have all been documented via float therapy usage.

Floating is the ultimate life-saver for athletes – speeding up recovery, reducing muscle soreness, and enhancing focus. While detoxing extra lactic acid from your muscles, the zero-gravity environment lowers cortisol promoting relaxation, clears your head and calms your nerves.

Immune function is enhanced by suppressing stress hormones which not only weaken the immune system but also suppress the digestion and reproductive systems, affect regeneration processes, and decrease insulin sensitivities. Magnesium absorbed during a float reinforces your body’s defenses.

Floating suppresses the functioning of the sympathetic nervous system which, when active, produces our fight or flight response. Floatation activates the parasympathetic nervous system which is responsible for relaxation, healing, replenishment, and recovery. Some physical benefits of the relaxation response are decreased muscle tension, decreased blood pressure, decreased stress hormones, and increased endorphins.

Floating helps you quickly reach theta state. Theta waves are creative, characterized by feelings of inspiration. It is believed that this mental state allows you to act below the level of the conscious mind, allowing you to ideate without hesitation

Floating brings your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems back into balance, reducing restlessness. By replenishing your depleted magnesium levels, floating leads to deeper, more restorative sleep.

FLOAT THERAPY FAQS

We provide all the amenities you will need. Towels, slippers, robe, shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, earplugs, ointment for scratches and water. You are welcome to bring a hairbrush or anything else you feel you might need.

You may wear a swimsuit or choose to float nude. The room is entirely private, so you are free to float in whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

Yes, many pregnant women find Floating Therapy extremely therapeutic. It is known to reduce the risk of preeclampsia and allows you to connect with your baby. However, consult with your healthcare provider before your first float.

Our pods are incredibly spacious, measuring about 8’ in length and 6’ in width; you have complete control over the lighting, music and position of the canopy door. Also, the experience of sensory deprivation erases your perception of boundaries, making the space around you feel limitless.

Please consult with your healthcare provider if you have any medical conditions or concerns prior to booking a session.

The water is treated with a combination of filtration, UV sterilization, and disinfectants to ensure a hygienic environment.

Every room and pod are thoroughly sanitized before each use.

It’s safe to fall asleep. The saltwater will keep you buoyant, and the controlled environment ensures safety.

It’s best to avoid heavy meals or alcohol before your session but a light snack is fine.

Generally, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and individual policies may vary.

Frequency varies by individual goals and preferences. Some float weekly, while others do it monthly.

It’s recommended to remove contact lenses to avoid irritation from the saltwater.

We recommend avoiding shaving 2 hours before your float. Stinging from salt water will fade within minutes but it would be distracting to your experience.

If your hair color is permanent and done more than 10 days ago, you should be good to float. If your hair color is semi-permanent, or is blue or red (these tend to come out and stain the pod), then you can’t float, unless it has been several weeks since getting your hair colored and you are 100% sure that color is no longer running in the shower.
